Fathers Day 2017
3rd September 4.42pm
Fathers Day had started out hectic in my house, the kids were up early, the house was a mess and we were already running late for a family lunch. Finally in the car to make our way in to the city hoping we weren’t going to miss lunch my phone alerted me to a text and my heart skipped a beat!
I was only half prepared as this little bundle was four weeks early! Luckily my camera was in the car and I made a mad dash to drop off the boys, say a quick hi and bye to my family and back on the road to get the hospital about 45 minutes away.
I knew from my chats with this mumma that her second child had made his way in to the world pretty quickly so the entire drive I was hoping with all my might that I wouldn’t miss this little bundle!
Luckily for me when I met mum, dad and one amazing student midwife in the assessment clinic, labour was no doubt under way but I had made it!
Soon enough it was time to make our way upstairs (mumma powered her way through a contraction up the stairs!) and in to the labour suite. This stunning mumma powered her way through contractions with concentration and focus and laughed, joked and chatted in the down time.
The decision was made to break mummas waters so up on the bed she went. As the nurses prepared baby had other ideas and with a loud pop the waters broke on their own! A quick check and it was pretty clear bubs head was right there! In about 10 seconds and a gush of waters baby was here!
With a big set of lungs, Rylie John Gary Johnson was here, with a superstar mumma and a proud dad (what better fathers day present could you want!). It is such an unbelievable privilege to be able to share this day with families.
If you are interested in working together to create a sparkling trove of golden memories that you’ll treasure in years to come, and to give you photographic proof of just how amazing you are I’d love to hear from you
